Course Description

This course introduces the fundamental elements of the Spanish language with the emphasis on Speaking ability within a cultural context. There is instruction on the development of basic listening, speaking, and reading skills. Upon completion, students should be able to comprehend and respond with grammatical accuracy to spoken and written Spanish as well as demonstrate cultural awareness.

 

English language learners practice speaking and listening strategies for effective communication in discussions, presentations, lectures, note-taking, and group projects. The course builds vocabulary, critical thinking skills, and an awareness of non-verbal communication.
